In addition to the brand, material origin and production and processing technology, a key factor that directly affects the price of 316L stainless steel pipe is the surface treatment method

In order to further improve the characteristics of 316L stainless steel pipes, there are several specific methods for processing the internal and external surfaces of the pipes: pickling passivation (AP), mechanical polishing (MP), bright annealing (BA) and electrolytic polishing (EP) processing processes.

According to the experimental data and practical experience, these treatment methods have different effects on the roughness reduction and surface adsorption weakening of 316L stainless steel pipe.

AP (Pickling Passivation) grade stainless steel pipe through pickling process to remove the surface of the pipeline dirt and other impurities, but the surface is still rough. BA (Bright annealed) grade stainless steel pipe through mechanical polishing to smooth the surface of the pipe, brightness depends on the processing technology. There may be polishing material residue after mechanical polishing, which needs to be passivated. MP (Mechanical polished) grade stainless steel pipes are mechanically polished to make the pipe surface smooth, but may reduce corrosion resistance. EP (electrolytic polishing) grade stainless steel pipe: Through electrolytic polishing, the use of electrochemical principles to adjust the parameters, so that the pipe surface to achieve bright, smooth, clean effect, enhance corrosion resistance. These different surface treatment methods will have an impact on the appearance and performance of 316L stainless steel pipes, so the selection needs to be considered according to the specific needs and application environment.
