Main applications of stainless steel tubes
Time:2023-03-08 Source: Hits:211

Stainless steel welded tubes are mainly used for heat exchange tubes, fluid tubes, pressure tubes, mechanical structural tubes, urban landscapes, and other industries. The demand for stainless steel welded pipes for industrial use is high and the production process is mature.

From the domestic stainless steel tube products, austenitic steel is the leading steel; product varieties are: seamless steel tubes including cold-drawn tubes, cold-rolled tubes, hot extruded tubes, centrifugal casting tubes, and spinning tubes;

Welded pipes include plasma welding, argon arc welding, submerged arc welding, light-speed welding, and high-frequency welding. The stainless steel pipes produced cover a variety of international standard specifications.

There are more than 100 varieties of stainless steel-shaped tubes. The products are used in many fields such as industry and civil use.

Different materials of stainless steel tubes have different processing ranges and application environments. For example, 304 stainless steel tubes can be used in heat exchangers, condensers, pressure vessels, and other equipment industries.

409/436 tubes can be used in automotive exhaust systems.

Why are stainless steel tubes used in these areas?

1, 201 stainless steel pipe corrosion resistance in general, primarily decorative tubes, such as stainless steel guardrails, stainless steel handrails, stainless steel security windows, etc.

2, 304 stainless steel tubes have strong corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and low-temperature resistance. They are mainly used for decoration and mechanical piping. 304 stainless steel tubes are used as handrails, guardrails, and security windows in some coastal areas because of their high corrosion resistance.

Door decorative tube, its heat resistance also shaped its deep processing performance, such as punching, bending round, etc., the basic choice of 304 stainless steel tube.

3, 316 stainless steel pipe corrosion resistance than 304, high-temperature resistance than 304, generally used for mechanical piping, such as some boilers, high-temperature processing machinery parts, aviation, bearings, chemical industry, etc.

Stainless steel tubes in petrochemical applications

In the petrochemical industry, including the fertilizer industry, the demand for stainless steel tubes is extremely high, the industry mainly uses stainless steel seamless tubes, specifications: 304, 321, 316, 316L, 347, 317L, etc., the outer diameter in 18- 610 or so, the wall thickness in 6mm-50mm or so (generally choose φ159mm or more low and medium pressure conveying pipe specifications), the specific application areas are furnace tubes, material conveying tubes, heat transfer tubes, etc.

Example. Heat-resistant stainless steel tubes are mainly used for heat exchange and fluid transport.

Duplex stainless steel tubes are characterized by high strength, stress resistance, corrosion resistance, and economy, and are mainly used in the chemical and fertilizer heat exchanger and fluid tube markets.

Stainless steel bushings, stainless steel non-magnetic drill collars for oilfield drilling production, high resistance to CO, CO2, and Cl- corrosion super ferritic stainless steel Cr13, Cr25, and other oil casing.
