With the development of our technology, we have produced a series of technological products. Their appearance has changed our lives, improving our work efficiency and quality of life. Today, we will introduce the transformer core and its function.

First, let's look at the transformer. A transformer is a device that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to change the current. It has many functions, such as: voltage conversion and current conversion and so on. Its composition is very simple, mainly composed of a primary coil and a secondary coil with an iron core.

Transformer core, which is mainly responsible for the magnetic circuit part of the line. Generally use 0.35mm thick cold rolled silicon steel sheet, silicon steel is a silicon (silicon is also known as silicon) steel, its silicon content in 0.8 ~ 4.8%. The core of the transformer is made of silicon steel, because silicon steel itself is a magnetic substance with strong magnetic conductivity, and in the energized coil, it can produce a large magnetic induction intensity, which can reduce the volume of the transformer.

In principle, in order to reduce the eddy current, the thinner the thickness of the silicon steel sheet and the narrower the splicing strips, the better the effect. This not only reduces the eddy current loss, reduces the temperature rise, but also saves the material used in the silicon steel sheet. But actually when you make a silicon steel core. Not only from the above side of the favorable factors, because that the production of iron core, to greatly increase the working hours, but also reduce the effective cross-section of the iron core.

We know that the actual transformer always works in the AC state, and the power loss is not only in the resistance of the coil, but also in the core under the alternating current magnetization. Usually the power loss in the core is called "iron loss", and the iron loss is caused by two reasons, one is "hysteresis loss" and the other is "eddy current loss".

Transformer core It can generally be divided into four categories: shell and core core, single-phase and three-phase core, three-dimensional and flat and laminated core and rolled core. And it is mainly composed of 3 parts, respectively, the body, fasteners and insulation parts.

In order to reduce eddy current losses, the entire iron core is divided into thin sheets, which are separated by insulating materials. At the same time, silicon is infiltrated into the steel sheet of the core material to form the silicon steel sheet to increase the resistance of the material, which is easy to reduce the eddy current loss. In addition, the core of the transformer is in the alternating magnetic field, which has to undergo repeated magnetization process, and with the constant change of the direction of the alternating magnetic field, the rotation of the magnetic domain produces friction energy loss. This loss is a hysteresis loss, which is related to the core volume and material. The magnetic hysteresis loss can be reduced by using the core composed of silicon steel sheets. Therefore, the silicon steel sheet of the transformer should be stacked with silicon steel sheets, and the entire iron core can not be used.
