Birth: Series 200 stainless steel was born during World War II as a replacement for Series 300 stainless steel which was first developed successfully in the United States.

201 series of stainless steel in China mainly include: J4, J1, J3, J2, J5......
In the early years, we named high copper (J4), semi-copper (J1) to distinguish 201 steel, but with the downward development of copper content, there is a replacement of J1 and J3, and then the birth of J2 and J5 to replace J3.

From the above figures, we can see that the nickel and chromium composition of J series is actually not very different, .But it is obvious different between Carbon and Copper.
Copper: J4 > J1 > J3> J2>J5
Carbon: J5 > J2 >J3> J1>J4
Hardness: J5, J2 > J3>J1>J4

What industries are the J series suitable for?
J4:
It is the higher-end of the J series, suitable for deep drawing products with small Angle type, deep drawing and salt spray test products will mostly choose it.For example, sink, kitchenware, bathroom products, kettle, vacuum cup, door hinge, pot, etc.
the carbon is slightly higher than J4 and the copper is lower than J4. The processing performance is not as good as J4, suitable for light drawing, deep drawing products of large Angle type, such as decorative board, bathroom products, sink, product pipes, etc.
J3:
Suitable for decorative pipes.Simple processing in decorative board can be ok, add a little more difficult is not good.Feedback indicates that the shear plate is bent, and there is an inner seam after it is broken (do a good job of black titanium, color plate series, sand plate, it is broken, and there is an inner seam after it is broken).The sink material has tried bending, 90° is OK, but it will not ok if it continues.
J2, J5:
About decorative pipe: simple decorative pipe is still good, because the hardness is high (above 96°) polished more beautiful, but square pipe or in the bend (90°) is prone to burst.
About plate: due to high hardness, the surface is more beautiful, surface treatment such as grinding, polishing, plating color is OK.But the biggest problem is the bending problem, bending is easy to break, gouging groove easy to burst.But ductility no good.
